Work is still going on on the layout, but progress is being shared with the construction of rolling stock and the wiring of the layout.

One job that had to be done sometime was to apply cosmetic chairs to the check rails in the platform roads.So the first task was to cut a lot of the chairs in half using a sharp knife blade. |
The "outer" half of the cut chair is offered up to the rail to fill in the missing section. |
And then it is stuck in place.And this had to be repeated well over one hundred times. :-) |
The Platform One road has been completed with all the missing chairs on the outside of the running rail and the inside of the check rail having been fitted.

Here's a wider shot showing the difference between the completed Platform One road on the left and the yet to be done Platform Two road on the right.Platform Two road has now been completed - take my word for it. :-) |
And here's a glimpse of what's going on out in the workshop.The chassis of the loco has had its sprung axleboxes fitted and is awaiting the fitting of the gearbox and motor and the coupling rods. The driving wheels in the background have been turned down to Scale7 standards and have been fitted with crankpins. |
